Ingredients:
1 tablespoon Instant Yeast
1 tablespoon Sugar
¼ cup Lukewarm water/ water
2 cups Bread Flour
1 ½ cups Whole Wheat Flour
1 ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
1 ¼ tablespoons Cocoa Powder
2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
2 teaspoons Salt
¼ cup Honey
¼ cup Oil
Oats (topping for bread)
Liquid or softened butter (topping for bread)
Steps:
1. Combine the whole wheat flour, bread flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, brown sugar, honey, oil, and the instant yeast to a mixing bowl.
2. Mix the ingredients until the dough forms.
3. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl and set it in a warm place and cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for about an hour.
4. After the dough has risen, knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 4-5 minutes.
5. Fold the sides of the dough so it’s formed into a roll and transfer it into a bread pan. Cover it with a towel again and let the dough rise for about half an hour.
6. Once risen, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
7. While the oven is preheating make deep cuts into the bread with a sharp knife so the bread can expand while baking.
8. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Brush the top with butter and let it cool before slicing.
9. Devour as is or slather with butter and jam!
